Local Law Enforcement
Roughly fifty vehicles have been covered with what seems to be human blood in the German town of Hanau in proximity to Frankfurt, according to law enforcement.
Vehicles, exterior walls and postboxes were vandalized, sometimes with Nazi symbols, they reported in a official communication.
Officers report they were contacted late on Wednesday evening, when a individual noticed that a vehicle in the Lamboy district of Hanau had been smeared with a reddish-hued fluid.
The liquid had been placed in the shape of a Nazi symbol, they reported.
Officers then found many other vandalized cars and residential walls in the surrounding area.
Nazi symbols are banned in Germany under laws banning the public display of Nazi symbols.
Police report preliminary tests show the substance was likely human bodily fluid.
"There is still no indication as to where it came from; investigators are currently not informed of any harm in association with the event," they commented.
Local authorities announced they were attempting "to resolve the incident" and have appealed to the public for information.
An important representative said the attack rendered him speechless and had to be addressed rapidly.
"This incident strikes at the center of Hanau and revives the trauma of the extremist violent incident five years ago," he posted on social media, referring to the murder of nine individuals by a gunman targeting individuals of foreign heritage in 2020.
